Butterfly Pavilion is a sweet place to visit on any day of the week but the monthly Sunset Stroll is an Extra Awesome way to experience the Pavilion. Once a month there is a guided tour at sunset for visitors to experience the most active part of the day for many of the animals. This month the tour is on August 12th at 6:30 PM and admission is $8 adults and $6 kiddos. The tours are monthly so don’t sweat it if August 12th doesn’t work out for you.
You must preregister by Tuesday, August 10th – call 720-974-1870 or email estuckeyweber@butterflies.org
Private party? If you have a group of 10 people or more you can setup an exclusively guided tour of the rainforest at sunset.

Try something new this weekend and visit the weekly outdoor yoga workshop at City Park. Yoga Rocks the Parkwill provide you the opportunity to practice yoga with some of Denver’s top instructors. After getting a great yoga session there will be live music and dancing afterwards so this is a unique opportunity for you to get a great workout and to celebrate summer! If you have children, bring them along too…the program offers story-time yoga and a YogaKids class.
Yoga in the Park takes place in City Park at 4:00 on Sundays through September 19th. The cost for the class is $10 and all profits go to Yoga World Reach which offers yoga therapy programs to those in need locally and around the world. They also offer Yoga in the Park at Scott Carpenter Park in Boulder.

At the beginning of the summer a client of mine purchased a home in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood. Today they called me to chat it up and also to say thanks for getting their family a house within walking distance of the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. They didn’t realize just how close it was until they walked to the Denver Zoo with their kiddos last Sunday. How cool is that!? All urban Denver neighborhoods are different and I love to hear when people are enjoying the very reason they moved there in the first place. During the conversation I mentioned to them that FREE day at Denver Nature & Science Museum this Sunday which also reminded me I had to let everybody know about FREE Day.
Sunday, August 8th is Free Day at SCFD and the hours of operation are 9 AM to 5 PM. As an added bonus Body Worlds & The Story of the Heart Exhibit is also giving discounted entry on August 8th – $14/adults, $10 children/students, $13/seniors. Body Worlds will only be here through August 15th so you still have time. Ticket sales for the timed entry will start at 9 AM on 8/8 – there is a limited amount of tickets. Already have plans that you can’t break this coming Sunday? No worries, there are other FREE Days during 2010.

If you enjoy drinking beer then the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is for you! This year there will be 522 different breweries in the competition and they anticipate more than 2,200 beers to be served and more than 3,500 beers are scheduled to be judged. This is a serious beer competition for the brewers and tons of fun for the attendees! It’s a 3 day event at the Colorado Convention Center sells out every year and the Saturday afternoon session is already sold out so click here to get your tickets today!
If you are interested in home brewing, you should visit the Beer School. Whether you’re just getting started or have been brewing for years, you’re sure to learn something new. There is also a Brewers Panel in which brewers will share their stories and their beers with the audience.
I personally recommend volunteering to be a part of the Brew Crew at the event. It’s a really fun job in which you assist the brewers in serving beer samples to the masses of beer fans attending. If you volunteer for at least 3 shifts, you get a free ticket to the event and it’s probably the most fun you’ll even have volunteering. There are plenty of other volunteer opportunities but I think the Brew Crew is the most fun!
